We fix the start from Merano, surrounded by the mountains. Immediately after left on the back Merano will start in Forst (famous headquarter of the homonymous beer) the Venosta valley, an ancient valley of glacial origin dense of small towns with German influences. During the first fifty kilometres you are totally immersed into the apple orchards, passing by Naturno and Silandro before reaching Prato allo Stelvio, the city at the bottom of his majesty ‘Stelvio’. On the sunniest days you can see the top of the pass, far above over your head.

After Prato starts the climb, fast 26 kilometers with 48 hairpins, it starts for the first 8 km with a gradient of 5% and after the road junction for Solda the climb becomes harder with a gradient of 8-9%. On the last 8 kilometres you can see already the top, dreaming to eat a cake’s slice on Rifugio Perego! The descent of the Umbrail pass on the Suisse side to Val Mustair led you to the state border to Italy at Tubre, before reaching the beautiful medieval town of Glorenza, completely surrounded by fortified walls. The last 50 kilometers are on slight descent before get back to Merano, for an epic day on the bike!
