An exclusive edition of our new Unique Pro shoe, the 4.0 is the first shoe in the world to offer compatibility with SRM’s revolutionary new X-Power Direct road pedal system.
The Unique Pro is in fact uniquely positioned to take advantage of the performance gains offers by SRM’s system thanks to its proprietary sole unit with patent-pending carbon fiber layup, exceptional stiffness, torsional rigidity and heel cup stability as well as its tongue-less, sock construction for superior fit.

The 4.0 edition nevertheless remains compatible with all major existing pedal and cleat systems on the market.

SRM X-Power Direct Road Pedal

The greatest innovation in SRM’s new pedal lies in its engthening of the pedal body to reposition the positive element of the cleat and its attending mechanical components behind the direct point of contact between shoe and pedal, allowing for a 6 mm reduction of space between shoe and pedal axle relative to existing marketing leading systems (Shimano) and an increase in contact surface (1.653 mm.) area between shoe and pedal offering the ride both more direct and efficient transfer of power.

SRM X-Power Direct Pedal Cleat

The X-Power Direct Pedal’s cleat, by virtue of its increased length and repositioning of the positive element, must be attached in two points, instead of three, both in the same lengthwise axis of the shoe. This new hole position is available exclusively on the Q36.5 Unique Pro 4.0 shoe (which still remains compatible with all major existing pedal systems).

The Unique Pro 4.0 is a new 4-hole version of our highest performance model, the Unique Pro which offers market-exclusive compatibility with the new SRM X-Power Direct road pedal and cleat system. Engineered for total control, the Q36.5 Unique Pro Shoes use proprietary Italian manufacturing technologies to achieve a new level of stability, power, and comfort for riders, allowing you to push yourself to the limit with a renewed level of confidence. At the heart of the shoe’s superior performance is a market-leading 4.4mm stack height. The artisanal carbon fiber sole is made in Montebelluna using a patent-pending layup. The outsole also features an extra wide metatarsal area for guaranteed comfort across different foot sizes and a cupped heel for increased stability. A signature of all Q36.5’s racing shoes, the Unique Pro Shoes feature no tongue but rather use a proprietary mesh panel across the bridge of the foot in order to maximize the shoes’ cooling effect. No other racing shoe on the market offers such a large and effective ventilating surface, representing an additional example of our commitment to thermoregulation as the new frontier for performance gains as well as rider comfort and health. Please note that the 4.0 version of the Unique Pro remains compatible with all major existing pedal and cleat systems.

Effects of Lower Stack Height

Q36.5 and SRM worked together with Oliver Elsenbach of Solestar to compile a comprehensive first analysis of the biomechanical advantages of a lower pedaling stack height and what the rider can expect to gain from adopting the new system. The report will be of particular interest also to riders looking to compensate the drawbacks of a shorter crank.
