Tour des Dolomites

44th Giro delle Dolomiti and Dolomiti Challenge 2021

We at Q36.5 are happy to announce that after a long year of cancelled sporting events, we were finally able to privately host our amateur riders during the Giro delle Dolomiti in Bolzano, with our specially tailored “Dolomiti Challenge”. 2021 marked the 44th Giro delle Dolomiti. Born in 1955, the Giro delle Dolomiti is the oldest weeklong event for amateurs that we know of. Having been a partner of the Giro delle Dolomiti since 2017, we were delighted to showcase our cycling Collection while riding some of the most spectacular cycling routes in the Dolomites

Ever dreamed of having the opportunity to experience the life of a professional cyclist? This special combination of training and competition included competing against other like-minded cyclists in two stages of the Giro Dolomiti with training rides on the days before, between and after the competitions. We chose two absolute highlights for our guests: the Queen stage over the Sella Ronda and the final Team Time Trial!

Our challenging daily training rides under the leadership of our Q36.5 trainers, took participants on scenic routes where they discovered the hidden gems of the Dolomites. We offered full mechanic service and training analysis, as well as the possibility to test a SRM power measurement system and/or rent a high-quality bike in a specific size.

Upon arrival, our guests received an exclusive Q36.5 Race Kit. Participants enjoyed their stay with full board in a 4* hotel where they had the opportunity to sample the unique South Tyrolean cuisine as well as the traditional wines of the region. A regenerative massage after every training ride ensured that everyone was fit for the next day.

The routes

Sellaronda: 29 July – 3.303 m | 160,3 km | h 7:00

Crono Plan de Gralba – Passo Gardena | 5,5 km • 236 m • 4,3%

Crono Corvara – Passo Campolongo | 4,4 km • 269 m • 6,2%

Probably the most beautiful route of the week and the longest stage of the week included 4 peaks and stunning scenery over 160km.

The Sellaronda goes over four famous mountain passes: the Passo Sella (2213); the Passo Pordoi (2239m); the Passo di Campolongo (1875m); and the Passo di Gardena (2121m).

As the massive Piz Boè looms above, our riders felt enveloped by a landscape that genuinely deserves the word ‘dramatic’. The way back to Bolzano was a treat as it is mostly downhill, something very appreciated on a cycling day with a total elevation of 3’300 m.

TEAM CRONO

31 July – 402 m | 86,5 km | h 9:00

Giro Sprint Frangarto – Cornaiano | 2,0 km • 121 m • 6,1%

Crono Cortina sulla Strada del Vino | 15,7 km • 22 m • 0,1%

Last year there were 60 teams participating in this last stage of the Giro delle Dolomiti. Its flat, it’s fun and it took place around the area of the historical village of Cortina, on roads surrounded by vineyards and included a Giro Sprint from Bolzano to Cornaiano. On this last ride, our guests proved themselves in a race against the clock and saw that their hard training paid off.
