Worn over a long sleeve jersey from the start of the ride or pulled out of a rear pocket when the weather turns, the Bat-Shell provides the perfect balance of weather protection and breathability, with its lightweight, short sleeve design giving the rider the option of removing or adding layers as conditions change. Bought it a while ago and the first impression was positive. Tried it out only today, because it was the first day this spring that allowed riding in short clothes. Must say: it's fantastic. Suits like a glove, lets you ride and move freely, one does almost have the feeling of not wearing it.. super leggera!

A waterproof vest? What an odd idea I thought. But experience told me, that the good folks at q36.5 usually think further ahead. This garment is proof for that. Especially in the transition seasons a top that stores body heat ob descents and protects from the occasional drizzle and showers is actually a great idea. I wear it with an L1 LS and it works well from near freezing to 15C. It fits into the jersey pocket with a bit of pushing and prodding. A very versatile yet compact piece.

Have used this a couple of times with just a base layer beneath it in heavy showers and it has performed really well.
