I had the luck to have 5 years experience as a professional rider even though I started my career very late. I participated in the Giro d’Italia for women, the Tour de france femminin and the World Championships in Salzburg. I am most proud of ranking 8th at the 2004 Tour of Flanders World cup.
With 25 years in my pocket as a pro cyclist, I participated in the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta Espagna. Highlights in my career include winning a gold medal in the TTT at the 1988 Seoul Olympics as well as being a World Champion in 1989. I have also had many years of behind-the-scenes experience in professional cycling, working as both Manager and Director Sportiv for the pro teams Astana and T-Mobile.
During my pro career, I was a professional track rider, came in third in the European Derny Championship, was the Italian champion and won several medals. I was also a professional 6-Days rider and Elite road racer.
We have devised an action packed 6-day trip in May with the focal point being this year’s Giro d’Italia. Training will take place on the same roads as the Giro giving you the opportunity to watch the peloton up close. The Q36.5 camper will be our base during the stages of the Giro (22nd and 23rd May)
The July trip is an opportunity to discover the Dolomites, especially the less known areas, including breathtaking and challenging passes which are still well kept insider secrets. A relaxed visit to a local vineyard for a wine tasting event and a special dinner highlighting the local cusine are also on the plan.
During the September training camp we will ride the Stelvio. Approaching it from two different sides, we will not only reach the Swiss border but will also ride up all the world-renowned hairpin turns. This Stelvio experience is made even more exclusive as it has been planned when the road is officially closed off to car traffic. Imagine what an amazing experience that will be!
