The route takes you from Brunico to Cortina d’Ampezzo. Once you pass the alpine village, you’ll encounter the climb up to Passo Falzarego.
From the top it’s just a mere pedal push to reach Passo Valparola, peaking at roughly 2,180m, before going all the way down through Val Badia and back to Brunico.
The climb starts in Cortina d’Ampezzo and winds over countless switchbacks, nestled in dense woods leading to a rocky mountain backdrop.
Once you reach Passo Falzarego, it’s one last effort for a couple of meters of altitude before you reach the highest spot of the ride, the Passo Valparola.
When cycling in alpine terrain, the weather is often unpredictable. Within minutes, the weather can change dramatically and temperatures can drop significantly.
Therefore, make sure you’re equipped with protective gear so you’re ready for the high altitude elements.
